WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP: As our self describing name implies, we are a fellowship of Elm Street Congregational Church Women. We are not a club, nor do we charge dues. “Joining” is not necessary since all women interested in our church are welcome to attend any or all of our meetings, whether or not they are members of the church itself.
The Women’s Fellowship exists to encourage fellowship, to carry on a missions program, and to promote interest in and offer support for Elm Street Congregational Church.
We are proud of our long heritage of helping others in true Christian Spirit and we are grateful for the bonds of friendship we have made among ourselves.
Our meetings are usually held on the first Wednesday of each month at 7 PM. Our program committee has planned an informative and enjoyable year for us. We hope that you will take a few moments to pursue the information on this webpage and then decide to take an active part in Women’s Fellowship this year and in future years.
Women’s Fellowship has been a Major Contributor to Elm Street Church since its formation. Much of our money came from serving a Southbridge Rotary Club Luncheon on a regular basis. We did this from 1945 through 2008 when it was discontinued due to a lack of participation. We now look for other ways to make up that deficit.
Some of the monies we raise are distributed as follows: Upper Room Subscriptions, Coffee Hour, and Scholarships for students.
Some of our Missions include: Christmas Baskets for the needy, the Pastor’s Discretionary Fund, and Youth Fellowship.
The Women’s Fellowship greatly appreciates all the support you provide in our fundraising efforts.
Women’s Fellowship News: Our Women’s Fellowship year is about to begin again after a great year of well-attended programs. By the time you read this the booklet for the coming year will be completed and copies are available to all women who attend Elm Street Congregational Church. We have arranged some great programs for 2017-2018 and hope many will plan to attend. The Women’s Fellowship is open to all women of the church. There are no dues and no commitments. Women’s Fellowship President Althea Clemence ,” I am looking forward to another fun and interesting year ahead”. The Installation of officers took place on Sunday, September 24 during the church service.
