What to Expect

Visiting a new church for the first time can be daunting. Whoever you are and wherever you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here!

Worship Times

We offer worship at  10 a.m. Sunday Morning. This service  features an opening hymn and liturgy, Children’s time, Special Music, sermon, and prayer in a smaller, more intimate setting. The service lasts about 60 minutes. Worship Format: Worship at Elm Street follows the format suggested by the United Church of Christ Book of Worship. It includes the acts that have characterized Christian worship since earliest times: Praise, Confession, Proclamation, and Response. Everything that you need to participate fully in worship is included in the printed program.

We offer a Free Meal and Prayer service on the Fourth Saturday of Every Month.

All of our services offer opportunities for you to participate by reading, singing, praying, and listening – to scripture readings, the sermon, and to music. At the beginning of each service, we greet each other and pass the peace of Christ to each other.

Communion is offered on the first Sunday of the month. At Elm Street, all are welcome at Christ’s table, no matter where you are on your spiritual journey. Communion is offered in a traditional manner. You will be given clear instructions on Communion Sunday as to the way in which the sacraments will be offered that day.

Offering: At all of our services we follow the ancient Christian practice of receiving an offering to support the Church’s ministries. We welcome your gifts and encourage everyone to consider how to best live a life of generosity. If you are unable to give financially, please consider an offering of time or talent to the church, another organization, or a neighbor in need.

How Do I Get There and What About Parking? Parking is available on Elm Street and Park Street, as well as behind the Southbridge Town Hall.  Handicap access is available to the church from the Southbridge Town Hall parking lot.
